Dr. Ewa Byczek (pronounced Eva Bicheck) was born in Poland and has lived in the Columbus area since the age of 7.  Her love of dentistry started at an early age when her middle school science fair projects focused on the effectiveness of toothpastes.  Along with her own excellent experience with orthodontic treatment and her love of working with children, she knew a career in orthodontics was what she wanted to pursue.

 

Dr. Byczek earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry, graduating at the top of her class and Summa Cum Laude in 1994.  She received numerous honors/awards for outstanding scholastic, clinical and professional achievements in dentistry including the Callahan Memorial Award, the Harry M. Semans Award, the AmericanCollege of Dentists Award, and the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology.  Dr. Byczek also holds the honor of being inducted into the dental honorary society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.  She further completed her Orthodontic Specialty training/residency with a Masters of Science in 1997 at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry.  Dr. Byczek has also performed extensive research in the area of lower jaw growth and has published her findings in the orthodontic journal, Seminars in Orthodontics.

 

Dr. Byczek is an active member of various dental organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Columbus Dental Society.  She also holds the distinction of being a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction historically held by only 1 in 5 orthodontists.

Dr. Byczek and her husband Rob are very proud parents of two children: Allyssa and Braden.  Dr. Byczek enjoys traveling, tennis, spending time with family and friends and putting smiles on people’s faces.
