Meet Dr. Nagy
Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from Wilmington, Delaware and Tanta, Egypt.
What is your favorite thing about living in this current city/state?
Dublin has a warm, welcoming community and a rich cultural scene. I especially appreciate its natural beauty and abundance of outdoor activities—it’s a great place to enjoy the delicious food scene, kayaking, biking, and unwind.
When and why did you decide to become a dentist/orthodontist?
Growing up, I was fascinated by the role oral health and esthetics played even in ancient cultures like that of the Egyptian pharaohs. That early exposure, combined with meaningful clinical experiences during dental school and residency—like helping patients regain their confidence after orthodontic treatment—showed me how transformative a healthy, beautiful smile can be. That’s when I knew I wanted to become an orthodontist.
Where did you attend school for your undergraduate and dental degrees?
I earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at Tanta University in Egypt and later completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in Newark, NJ. I then completed a Pediatric Dental Fellowship at The Ohio State University, Pediatric Dental Residency in DE, Orthodontic internship at the Ohio State University, and earned a master of science in dentistry and Orthodontic Residency at the University of Louisville.

What is the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship, and why?
Trust. A trusting relationship ensures open communication, better compliance, and ultimately more effective and personalized care. Building that connection—especially with children and families—creates a comfortable and positive treatment experience.
What do you find most interesting and motivating about the dental profession?
I find the ability to blend science, art, and patient care in a highly collaborative environment incredibly rewarding. Whether I’m helping a child or an adult smile with confidence again or working with a team on complex craniofacial cases, each day offers a new opportunity to make a lasting difference in someone’s life.
Do you volunteer or do any community work?
Yes, I’ve been involved in numerous volunteer efforts throughout my career. This includes dental mi
ssions in underserved areas of Mexico, leading oral health outreach at community fairs and Rutgers Day, and volunteering with organizations like Give Kids a Smile, the American Red Cross, and the San Diego Food Bank.
Tell us more about yourself
Beyond clinical care, I’m passionate about research and innovation. I’ve led studies that were presented at national and international conferences, including projects on pain management and orthodontic treatment efficiency. When I’m not in the office, you’ll probably find me watching soccer (Go Crew!!), capturing moments with my camera, out on my bike, or playing a game of squash.
